Swirling mists did swamp the lies,
All about rose vengeful cries.
Darkness was a friend indeed,
As peasants did their awful deed.

The girl was hung not by her neck,
As sticks her body made a wreck.
But by her wrists she was ensnared,
The clawing hands her body bared.

Sharp eyes her naked body raked,
The foul abuse for crimes were faked.
Excuses for the lust of men,
Who all in total numbered ten.

The innocent girl pleaded her case,
But all in vain, their motives base.
Just village hounds baying for blood,
Ill-disguised perverts at the flood.

'Hang the bitch!' rang out a cry,
She'd kissed a girl, that was no lie.
Frustrated jealousy was the spur,
Despatch her now like mangy cur.

But sudden galloped upon the scene
A mounted woman, tall and lean
She flayed those sons of bitches hard,
A raging fury was her trump card.

Pathetic in their shamed disgust,
She dispersed those men as crumbled rust.
Alone, the two were locked in love,
Soft mist did clothe them from above.

And yet no lust in their embrace,
Older woman cupped a tear-stained face.
Quickly freed where girl was bound,
A mother's lost daughter had been found!
Another of my twisty endings.
An oldie edited.

Twisty twisty twisty!! As always! A very tense but enjoyable read, and a flood of intense relief when the final twist unravelled itself :)
